Tax Collector's Message
Thank You, everyone, for your all-out effort to help in keeping the
municipal taxes under control. -- Danielle C. Peacock, CTC, Tax Collector
The Mayor and Township Committee are responsible for, and control only,
the "Municipal" portion of Property Tax Bills, which is approximately 4½
% of the total property tax that includes the Unpaid Tax Fund (0%), and
Municipal Government (0 %), and Open Space (0%).
The Plumsted Board of
Education establishes the Budget and determines the amount of tax dollars
needed for the School portion, which is 71% of the property tax bill.
The County's portion of the tax bill, 20.5%, is controlled by the Ocean
County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
The Fire Protection Services
portion of the tax bill, 4 ½%, is controlled by the Plumsted Board of
Fire Commissioners.
