The
New Egypt Elks in a unique partnership with the Plumsted Township Alcohol and
Drug Alliance and the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Council of Ocean County
provided the space and food for an Early Bird Dinner on October 23, 2009.
Jim
Hendrickson informed the seniors of the programs and education materials that
are available from the Municipal Alliance as well as information about future
luncheons and dinners.
Leslie
Malsbury and Brenda Hubit represented the Alcohol and Drug Council explaining
the various programs that are available thru a number of Senior Organizations
in the County.
Rosemary
Ritter, President of New Egypt Senior Outreach Services and Fran St.Clair, Coordinator
of all SOS events informed the group of the many services that are available
thru the SOS. This organization is the one to contact when you feel in need of
any special services or help. If they can’t help you they know where to get it.
The
Plumsted Municipal Alcohol and Drug Alliance members would like to thank the
above organizations for their contributions to Community Wellness. The
Municipal Alliance is here to serve and educate all age groups. We are
sponsoring programs in each of our schools and presenting educational materials
at most of the events in the community.
The
New Egypt American Legion Post 455 is a primary supporter of the Municipal
Alliance in the use of the building where we hold our many meetings on a year
round basis. They are a most ardent supporter of recovery work in the community. We give
many thanks for their effort also.
Alliance Chairman, Jim Hendrickson
