Free Rabies Clinic Scheduled In Plumsted

The Township Committee is
providing a free rabies clinic for dogs and cats on Friday evening, December 5th,
at the New Egypt Fire House, 59
Main Street, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.. The Firehouse
has convenient parking in the rear and we are very appreciative of our local
Firemen providing this location for the convenience of the public. Please be
prepared to clean up after your pets and keep the Firehouse and parking area
clean.
Dog licenses must be
purchased by January 31st. Anyone not renewing by mail, may purchase
dog licenses from the Municipal Clerk’s office at 121 Evergreen Road. Dog licenses cannot
be purchased without proof of rabies vaccination. The Township Committee
approved a 50% discount reduction in Dog license fees for all Senior Citizens
in Plumsted Township who are 62 years of age or older. Residents of any age who
are totally or permanently disabled as certified by the Social Security
Administration or physician, shall also have the municipal portion of the dog
licensing fee reduced by 50%.
The 50% reduction in dog license fees is also
available to Plumsted residents of any age who are active municipal volunteers
appointed by resolution of the Township Committee, active First Aid and Fire
Company volunteers and any resident involved with animal rescue or volunteering
with an animal shelter. Appropriate documentation must be presented to the
Municipal Clerk’s office for validation.
During the period October 22nd
to November 4th there were seven (7) homes in Plumsted Township
burglarized. Upper
Freehold Township
and adjacent Municipalities also reported similar burglaries during the same
time period. In Plumsted, the locations of the burglaries were throughout the
Township on various rural streets and in one (1) Development neighborhood. The burglaries occurred between 12 noon and 3
pm. in homes that were vacant at the time. Anyone with information or observing
suspicious activity is urged to report it to the police. Plumsted residents my
contact their local P.D. at 758-3738 for non-emergency informational purposes.
Plumsted Township P.D. has 24 hour police dispatch service at 758-7185 and 911
emergency response. Upper
Freehold Township
does not have a local Police Department and residents there should contact the
State Police with helpful information.
Plumsted Township has established an “E-Mail
Alert Service” to inform all residents of important news, emergency, police and
public safety notices, special Township events and much more. Any resident

service.
Residents are reminded of
the New Egypt High School’s
Sophomore Class annual “Holiday Night” shopping event at the High School on Evergreen Road,
from 7 to 10 pm. Fundraising admission tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for
students with all admission tickets given to win door prizes. Holiday
music, food and fun are part of this shopping night.
The Township’s Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday,
November 29 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

Steve Reed, Eric Sorchik, Deputy Mayor Mike McCue and Mayor Ron Dancer

As a result of the new Township Committee meeting
schedule, the dates for the monthly one-on-one personal meeting
sessions with Mayor Ron Dancer at the Library every month have also
been revised. In 2007, meet personally with the Mayor at the Library on
the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month (December 10th)
from 7 to 9 p.m. to discuss local concerns or State
issues. Residents
