Citizen Emergency Response Training Offered

Plumsted
Township’s Office of Emergency Management is offering free
“Community Emergency Response Team” (CERT) training in eight (8) weekly two hour
sessions from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, January 5th
at the Plumsted Municipal
Building, 121 Evergreen Road,
New Egypt.
The CERT program is
affiliated with the National Citizen Corps and is Nationally recognized by all
levels of government. Emergency personnel will train citizens basic response
skills in Disaster Preparedness; Fire Safety; Disaster Medical Operations;
Search and Rescue; Terrorism and much more. For more information and

County Offices Travel to Plumsted
In
other news, “Helping Hands Pantry” recently opened at 31 Evergreen Road in New
Egypt to provide free food and clothing to anyone in need. The hours of
operation are Thursday evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. “Helping Hands Pantry” is sponsored by The
Christian Fellowship Church of New Egypt that conducts services at the American
Legion Post 455, on Meadow Lane,
under the direction of Pastor Bob Swift. For more information on the Helping

County Offices Travel to Plumsted
|
In
other news, the mobile Ocean County Connection Office Bus will be in st1:place
w:st="on">Plumsted Township on Monday, January 4, 2010, at
the Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library, 119 Evergreen Road, from 1pm to 3pm. The County Connection
provides information, assistance and services directly to the people on
location, rather than, the people traveling to Toms River.
Among the services are: application processing of passports; photo I.D.’s;
senior and veteran services, and much more. Residents are encouraged to utilize
this service to ensure its’ continuation in Plumsted Township.
Snow Clearing and Parking

Residents are reminded that during snowstorms with accumulations that require
snow plowing, street parking is prohibited within the entire Township. In the
Downtown New Egypt business / commercial zone, property owners and / or tenants
are required to clear sidewalks of snow within 12 hours of daylight after snow
fall ends.

Meetings
Plumsted’s administrative offices at the
Municipal
Building will close at
12:00 noon on Thursday, December 24th
due to employee’s scheduled leave time. The offices will be closed on Friday,
Christmas Day, December 25th.

center is closed on Saturday, January 2nd
in observance of the New Year Holiday weekend.
Plumsted Township’s Senior Outreach Services (SOS) will host its second annual
Senior Winter Luncheon on Wednesday, January 13th
from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
at the Municipal Building’s Senior Meeting Room (lower level), 121 Evergreen
Road, New Egypt. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. For more
information call 609-758-2241 ext. 111.
Meet personally
with the Mayor at the Library on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7
to 9 p.m. (January 13th)
to discuss Local concerns or State issues. Residents may call the Library
(758-7888) in advance to schedule a specific time for your convenience. The
