Meeting Minutes 

Plumsted Township Republican Club

September 17, 2009 Meeting

Meeting called to order 8:00 PM, Pledge of Allegiance & opening prayer

Roll Call - new member, Bill Lewis in attendance

No minutes from prior meeting read, they are unavailable

Correspondence – Letter from Old York Country Club read thanking us for holding the

golf outing there

Treasurers Report - $3,496.33 in account, about $3,000.00 made from golf outing, $6,400.00 still needed to be collected

Membership Committee – Nothing new to report. Lenny attended the Tea Party in Washington DC and reported over 1.5 million came. Suggested connecting with this sentiment locally to involve new members to the club. Wine & cheese event with Col. Grasso, the base commander, as speaker suggested. Ron to meet her and inquire. Eric, Dave & Lenny to work on location & date. American Legion & Friday 13th in November after Election Day suggested. Motion made seconded and approved to spend a maximum of $1,000.00

Ways & Means Committee – Nothing new

Campaign Committee Signs will be at the next meeting, a minimum is to be spent since Mitch Geier is the only opposition

Candidate Search Committee New Member Bill Lewis expressed interest in running for Committeeman

Scholarship Committee – Discussion on requirements, must be accepted by a school, should attend a meeting

Township Advisory Committee – Nothing

Platform & Issues Committee – Nothing

Old Business – Newspaper ads discussed, Messenger Press has a 2 week cut off and is planning a page for New Egypt. TriTown covers New Egypt but is expensive.

Volunteers needed for County & Governors campaigns. Can sign up for Ocean County Republicans on Facebook. Motion made and approved to send $300.00 to Dancer Malone campaign.

New Business – Plumsted GOP.org needs to be updated. Ron said Sherri will update but information needs to be sent to her. I will be the contact to do it of monthly meeting minutes.

   Suggestion made to get our club more involved with other County and local Republican Clubs which are more active than us.

   Sending thank you’s to golf outing contributors suggested

   Steve sponsored new member Bill Lewis who is a registered Republican, motion made and approved.

   Dues night, most are paid

   November 1 is New Egypt Fall Fest with the Ken Francis Kayak Race. Ken Francis Environmental Scholarship Fund mentioned. Ron decided to forego the $300.00 donation to his & Mike Malone’s campaign and send that money to Ken’s E. S. Fund. Mike McCue suggested bumping it up to $500.00 with $250.0 for each scholarship.

   Might move location of our meetings during the year, possibly next spring at a more social location. Venting ½ hour to be after the meeting.
