Six Flags Great Adventure unveiled its much-anticipated, expansion plans for the new year at an estimated price tag of $40 million which includes a new partnership with Speedo and the creation of "America's Favorite Thrillogy."

During a press conference held last week the park's parent company, Premier Parks, Inc. in Six Flags Great Adventure noted their total investment to be $82 million in just two years. The park's annual $26 million impact on the county's tourism industry and employment growth in the state will continue according to Chairman and CEO of Premier Parks, Inc. Kieran Burke.

Also present was Gualberto "Gil" Medina, CEO and Secretary, State of New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission.

A week prior to the January 19 news conference, State Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Shinn joined local officials at the Jackson Township based park to mark the completion of consturction of a $6.3 million sewer line extension to the park financed by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program.

The project marks completion of $1 billion in low-cost water pollution control financing underwritten by the program. Completion of the sewer line was necessary for the expansion plans for the park.

During the January 11 news conference Commissioner Shinn and Trust Vice Chairman Barton Harrison presented a check for $6,392,109 to Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority Chairman Peter Carlson.
