Secretary's Notes

As you gather, we need new members as well as the ones we have now. So renew those friendships and let’s go on from here.

I thank you for your support and enthusiasm in renewing my term as your secretary for another year 2000-2001. Remember, one person alone does not do this job. The officers of this Lodge rely on the input of all members, so INPUT!

How about those late dues, where are they? As I said last year, mailings and letters sent three to four times a year costs your Lodge precious funds. Just think, what we don’t use for this expense we can give to those more deserving…the needy children and the unfortunate person, so get with it!!! Please pay up now and let’s move on to Elkdom.

Letters have been sent out concerning Flag Day services on June 11, 2000 and don’t forget mom on Mothers Day – May 14th. We will have a Lodge service (mandatory) All officers and public invited.

Congratulations to all of our new officers and committee persons. Thank you for being there!

It’s time for all members to look for your friends and neighbors to become acquainted with the New Egypt Elks and their families. Remember, all you have to do is ask them. What is the worst that could happen? They might be waiting to be asked. Tell them what we are about and the good we do in the community.

Lapsation

Well, what do you think? Some of your members decided not to heed the warning about paying their dues. Sorry, you need to reinstate yourselves with your Lodge. You know we need you and your family and I’m sure you will miss the fellowship of the members, so call me! Everybody makes mistakes, the only real mistake is not to correct it!
